The presentation laser pointer is a modern marvel of sophisticated technology in its own right. Being a modern marvel is not good enough however. We found a way to make this laser even better. By adding a buffer between the laser module and the batteries we have completely eliminated the tendency of the "dreaded dim laser dot". This is a condition where a perfectly good set of batteries, with only 25% of the capacity used up, will act as if they do not hold enough charge to power the laser. This causes the laser go dim, driving the turner crazy until he gets frustrated changes to a more fresh set of batteries. The interesting thing is that there usually is plenty of power left in the batteries to run the laser. With the buffer modification installed in the laser, a turner can expect to get the full life out of every set of batteries. Just as it should be!
